Designed by J T Rochead in 1854, the former derelict Grade A listed building located in the heart of Glasgow's Merchant City quarter, has been transformed into a modern Apartment Hotel consisting of 102 serviced apartments.

Located on a prominent corner site at Albion Street and overlooking the Trongate, the project demonstrates Holmes' skills in dealing with a complex refurbishment, combining extensive alteration and renovation behind existing facades with new infill. This required careful liaison and co-ordination with Planning Authority and Historic Scotland especially on important stonework restoration to the principle elevations.

The finished project is a commercially successful venture meeting the growing needs of the Glasgow visitor/tourist market.
