Kilmacolm New Community Centre
Holmes' competition-winning design for a new community centre in Kilmacolm in Renfrewshire responds not just to the physical accommodation requirements but to the demands and requirements of the local community.
The opportunity was taken to extend the project to include the public realm in the village centre, and create a new public open space. Together with traffic calming initiatives the project has the potential to win back the village centre for people as opposed to being dominated by through traffic and highway engineering measures.
