This 5- storey extension consisting of new laboratories and offices, required to fit a gap site between two existing departments, one of which occupied a listed Victorian sandstone building.

The design incorporates a new and improved circulation route linking the three departments, including disabled access and creates a new covered courtyard, easily accessible by ramps and bridges.

Holmes was awarded a Glasgow Institute of Architects (GIA) Design Award in recognition of the project.
