The refurbishment of the 1960's building comprises a new entrance and stair, suites of research laboratories, associated office and support accommodation. The dilapidated building fabric (such as windows, roof and external wall) was also refurbished to meet current building standards. Undergraduate teaching laboratories, lecture/ seminar rooms and full access for disabled persons are also provided.

The interior layout was completely re-planned with new M&E services to meet the University's requirements for modern research and teaching facilities
