Work begins on major Dundee Schools PPP Project
Holmes continue to justify its reputation as one of the UK's leading architectural practices in the education sector.
Work is now underway on site for the first of 7 new schools in Dundee. Holmes is providing architectural services to Robertson Construction Central Ltd and Robertson Construction Tayside Ltd for 7 of the 8 Schools being built for Discovery Education PLC.
Holmes Partnership is designing 1 new secondary and 6 new primary schools with a total of £65 m construction spend. The schools are:
• Grove Academy
• Brackens Macalpine Primary School
• Claypotts Castle Primary School
• Downfield Primary School
• Fintry Primary School
• Midcraigie Mossgiel Primary School
• St Margaret's St Columba's Primary School
The project plays a major part in developing Dundee City Council's 'City Vision' for a vibrant, confident and economically stable community by replacing outdated schools with modern, 21st century facilities.
The new schools will provide welcoming, stimulating, flexible and spacious accommodation that will provide a learning environment that assists teachers, and support staff, in the delivery of the curriculum and all aspects of school life together with valuable facilities which will benefit the wider community.
All schools are scheduled to be complete by 2009 .
