Canniesburn, a new development on the outskirts of Bearsden, Glasgow picked up the Residential Award for Excellence while the Oatlands Regeneration Project won the Regeneration Award for Excellence (jointly with Quartermile, Edinburgh) at the Property Executive Awards ceremony on 20 September. Meanwhile, a property within a residential scheme designed by Holmes on Novar Drive, Glasgow, netted the Best Apartment category at The Herald Property Awards dinner on 13 September.
Canniesburn, a joint venture between CALA Homes and Miller to redevelop the former Canniesburn hospital site, is a mix of flats and townhouses with some commercial space. Three B listed former hospital buildings have been restored and adapted and a number of new build apartments have been constructed. The result is a sensitive and exciting reuse of a historic site.
Holmes were appointed by Bett Homes (now part of the Gladedale Group) as executive architects tasked with the detailed design and delivery of the masterplan for the Oatlands regeneration project which is located on the south bank of the River Clyde, opposite Glasgow Green. This major development, when complete, will provide over 1200 new homes along with new community facilities including shops, gardens, and a public hall.
The award-winning penthouse apartment on Novar Drive is part of a striking luxury development designed by Holmes within the Hyndland conservation area of Glasgow’s West End.
